Mark joined English black metal giants Winterfylleth (Candelight Records) in 2014 for the release of ‘Divination of Antiquity’.
Initially brought in as a result of his specialism for arranging vocal harmonies, he soon became the 5th member, also adding keyboards and string arrangements, as well as contributing as a writer.
Whilst Mark predominantly worked as a studio member during his first years in the band, 2022 saw him join the live lineup as well, adding an extra element to Winterfylleth’s powerful live sound.
2022 also saw the release of the first album from Mark’s monastic Northumbrian doom solo project Arð (Prophecy Productions). Writing all the lyrics and music, he also performed lead vocals, rhythm guitar and bass, as well his signature choral vocals, piano and synths.
Featuring guest appearances from Callum Cox (Atavist), Dan Capp (Wolcensmen) and cellist Jo Quail, album ‘Take Up My Bones’ brought huge critical acclaim from both the press and fans alike, with many transfixed by its unique sound and combination of influences.

Mark playing with his solo project Arð at Huddersfield Town Hall accompanied by the 1860 Father Willis organ as part of the Organic Doom gig.
Amongst other things Mark has also collaborated with the Ukrainian black metal band Drudkh, written string arrangements for Japanese post metal legends MONO, and worked twice as choral arranger and orchestrator for Finnish power metal stars Sonata Arctica.
