Two days on The Holy Island of Lindisfarne, Northumbria, immersed in Breathe: The Musical Wellbeing Getaway
A unique combination of music, wellbeing, mental health and time to breathe in this truly iconic location.
You are invited…
…to a deeply restorative experience on Lindisfarne, also known as Holy Island—a setting like no other. Accessible only at low tide, this historic island offers sweeping beaches, rolling dunes, and unbroken views of the North Sea.
In this serene landscape, where life moves at a gentler pace, you’ll find not only an atmosphere that naturally supports physical and mental wellbeing, but the time to reconnect with music like never before.
“I highly recommend Mark as a speaker for anyone seeking to delve into the transformative power of music for holistic wellbeing. “

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN BREATHE?
Two full days of workshops, talks and musical wellbeing sessions with some of the country’s leading practitioners.
"Why Musical Wellbeing?" (Mark Deeks)
Music is all too often thought of as simply entertainment or (worse!) background noise. Mark believes that it is the most underutilised wellbeing tool we have at our disposal, and we all already have a relationship with it. This session will set the scene for the weekend.
"From Stage to Self-Care: Breathwork for Singing and Everyday Balance" (Pippa Anderson)
In this immersive journey, you’ll explore the transformative power of breath as a gateway to well-being, empowerment, and self-compassion. Through a gentle, embodied approach rooted in self-care, we’ll work with singers’ breathwork techniques, discovering how these practices can bring balance, clarity, and resilience to everyday life.
Three Group Singing Workshops (Mark Deeks)
Whilst Mark has run choirs for more than 25 years, arranging and leading a huge range of music, the music closest to his heart is often that which you would least expect to hear in a choir setting. Expect new versions of some of the music closest to Mark’s heart, and an unusual take on the healing power of group singing.
"The Voice You’ve Been Waiting For: Unlock the Voice Within" (Pippa Anderson)
Discover the voice you’ve always wanted in a joyful, well-being-focused session designed to bring out your authentic sound. Together, we’ll explore fun vocal techniques, tips, and tricks to help you connect with your voice in new ways, uncovering hidden tones and expressions. Alongside these playful exercises, we’ll draw from ancient vocal practices like chanting to deepen your experience and tap into the grounding and healing power of sound.
"How To Relax Using Music When There’s No Such Thing As Relaxing Music” (Mark Deeks)
In this thought-provoking and fun workshop, Mark will challenge how you think about, and listen to, music in his own unique style. Come ready not only to listen to music, but also to unlock how you could be relaxing way more than you are with a little musical help.
Sound Bath Experience (Angie Garton)
Lie down and get cosy under a blanket for this Relaxation Sound Bath experience. The singing bowls and therapeutic instruments will guide you through a relaxing soundscape experience, towards inner peace and calming self-connection.
Meditation to Music (Julia Murray)
A beautiful way to allow music to deepen your sense of relaxation and encourage a peaceful mind. Julia’s session will explore gentle, mindful movement to music finishing with a guided meditation focussing on musical highlights and the spaces between the notes, where silence and stillness resides.
This will be suitable for all abilities and can be adapted to sitting or lying. Please bring a mat/pillow/blanket.
Lindisfarne Mead Tasting Session
Included with your ticket, a private tasting session at the home brewery of Lindisfarne Mead, exclusively for Breathe guests. Included will be a range of mead, wine, rum and gin options.
Saturday Evening Concert
Included with your ticket, entrance to a concert from Mark Deeks on the Saturday evening in the intimate and spinetingling surroundings of the church on the island, St Mary’s.
Lunch Provided
On both the Saturday and Sunday a delicious lunch will be provided on the island.
