You’ve got a particular piano problem?
It’s stopping you playing the music you love?
Would you like it properly p(h)ixed?
(With a silent (h)? – sorry, I REALLY wanted an alliteration!)
Do any of these sound like you?
“When I sit down to play I keep hitting the same problem…”
“I wish I could just sit down at the piano and play…”
“I need someone to break me out of my piano rut…”
“I don’t want a lesson every week, just someone to help me when I need it…”
Don’t worry. There’s a solution.
Hi, I’m Mark Deeks. You may know me from my work with the BBC, Sing United & Gareth Malone. I’ve also worked with artists such as Faye Tozer (Steps), The Royal Northern Sinfonia, Lindisfarne and Sonata Arctica to name just a few.
I’ve been a professional piano player and musical director. and have performed internationally for more than 20 years. I’ve worked with a wide range of people to help improve their musical abilities, from teaching Lenny Henry the piano to coaching choirs for the BBC, in fact I started teaching piano when I was 15. And that was a LONG time ago!
During my career I have seen SO many frustrated piano players, unable to play the music they love, just GIVE up. Then they come up to me at gigs and say…
“I used to play the piano…”
Let’s save us BOTH the embarrassment! 😉
Here are the answers to some of your questions…
* How will the session take place?
When you choose your time slot and confirm the booking, you will be sent a Zoom link which is a unique web address where the meeting will “take place” online. You can download the free Zoom app to your mobile device if you wish, for flexibility, or just use your desktop or laptop computer and the Zoom website. You won’t need to pay for anything, and the link will lead you through the process. Maybe checkout Zoom before our session just to make sure you’re happy.
*Will I need a piano or keyboard during the session?
Assuming you have a piano problem and you need it properly p(h)ixed, then that’s probably a good idea! But if you are asking more theory-based questions, it may not be totally essential. It’s up to you!
*How much is a session?
For a 40 minute appointment, the cost is just £47, with no travel time, no waiting around time, plus all your home comforts, surroundings and a piano that you’re familiar with!
